Director, Performance Analytics Undertone Networks
Job Description
This highly visible role will have a direct influence on our global sales and marketing efforts as well as influence strategy and product development. We are looking for a highly motivated person who approaches analysis as a path to strategic thinking and problem-solving. The Director, Performance Analytics will leverage deep server-based domain knowledge and experience in consumer insights, digital media measurement and campaign performance to strengthen and support Undertone?s core brand promise: delivering ?Standout Brand Experiences?, and further Undertone?s position as an industry thought leader. This position compliments and dovetails with the consumer insight and syndicated research capability that Undertone currently has in house
Job Responsibilities:
Server-Data Analytics
Work with both Product and Technology teams to leverage Undertone?s owned and operated Ad Server data infrastructure for extracting insights that inform superior digital placement strategies and tactics
Design, develop and implement both market- and media measurement-based research strategies and initiatives across all aspects of Undertone?s business
Analyze server data to gain understanding of industry trends, consumer behaviors and cross-screen marketing initiatives
Provide input and rationale for selection of Undertone data partners
Analyze and identify key insights in relation to overall objectives in order to maximize clients? marketing ROI
Create and present insights gleaned from performance and syndicated data to internal stakeholders and external clients
Strategy & Implementation
Work with the client services and performance teams to create measurement plans and determine optimal metrics for campaign effectiveness
Collaborate with analytics team members, 3rd party ad-serving vendor(s) and campaign management team to deliver on proposed and advanced campaign metrics
Contribute to model building/development, interpretation of results and custom interactive visualizations or reports
Design and implement custom interactive reports on a project-by-project basis
Working with the media and analytics teams to determine optimal metrics for developing insights into campaign effectiveness
Understand, translate, and provide POV for new sources/vendors/opportunities for data collection
Incorporate research and measurement best practices into the product planning process to influence future product roadmap
Leadership
Synthesize vast amounts of internal ad server data and external intelligence to inform industry thought leadership, market research, case studies/reports, and branding effectiveness validation
Media measurement based intelligence including campaign analytics, publisher level performance, attribution, and market demand
Evangelize Undertone?s abilities market wide by participating in panel discussions, trade shows, and client and industry events, and establish yourself as a credited market expert
Understand, translate, and provide POV for new sources/vendors/ opportunities for data collection and partnerships
Inspire and lead the advanced analytics team, including, day-to-day client and campaign operations
Job Requirements
7+ years of relevant working experience, data analytics and a general interest in data and quantitative analysis
Advanced degree in marketing, statistics, econometrics, mathematics or a related quantitative field preferred
Excellent statistical and ad-server data and analysis skills and experience working with large data-sets (e.g. significance testing, regression modeling, etc.)
Digital media domain expertise with exposure to rich media advertising, ad serving/integration (PC, tablet, mobile), data management tools and other related products
Familiarity with SPSS, SAS or other statistical packages preferred
Experience with PHP & SQL a plus as you will be able to directly access the database
Experience managing/leading a team and coordinating projects across multiple business units
Strong project management skills with proven success at managing large scale initiatives cross departmentally
Must be pro-active, curious, and a creative problem solver
Ability to multi-task and adapt to change in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
Proven success building, developing and maintaining strong rapport with internal/external clients, vendors and industry leaders
Excellent written/verbal communication skills; active listening abilities and strong attention to detail
