Based in San Mateo, CA and backed by prominent Silicon Valley venture capital firms, Caring.com is the leading online destination for people struggling with the day-to-day realities of caring for aging parents, spouses or other loved ones. We provide much needed information, emotional support and access to local care resources.
We are looking for a passionate and results-oriented PR professional to lead our outbound communication efforts. Working closely with all members of the executive team, you will define the strategy and lead the execution of our communications plans as well as develop and foster relationships with the press, industry partners and influencers, and key clients.
Specific Responsibilities will Include:
Full management of PR agency including selection, budgeting, metric setting and tracking
Driving PR collateral development and delivery, including press releases, fact sheets and story pitches
Securing speaking opportunities for key executives and help with preparation
Must Have Skills:
10+ years public relations experience with a consumer-focused company
Ability to lead people and projects with grace under pressure
A deep understanding of great media relations; preferred that you have established relationships with business and consumer journalists
Tight project management skills
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
High level of organization and attention to detail
Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced start-up environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and a can-do-attitude
Knowledge/use of social networking platforms and applications
BA in journalism, communications, English or other related major
