Adknowledge?s Privacy and Compliance team implements the company?s data privacy and advertising compliance activities in support of our business channels and sales operations. The Team?s core functions are to provide internet data privacy and advertising compliance guidance and related risk management advice for Adknowledge?s products, services, campaigns and creative assets. In addition, the team interfaces with advertisers and publishers to resolve compliance risks and issues.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Director ? Privacy & Compliance, you will partner with Management, Sales, Engineering and Product teams across the world. Working closely with Adknowledge?s Legal Department and Executive Management you will create strategy and evaluate products, services and infrastructure for the company?s privacy and compliance needs. Your strong experience in privacy, compliance and related audit processes will be integral to your success as you review projects, products and services throughout their lifecycle ? from development through retirement. This role requires a special combination of privacy expertise, technical experience, organizational skills, and the ability to influence others.
Leading Adknowledge?s internet advertising privacy and compliance function and owning the development, implementation and maintenance of corporate policies and procedures relating to user privacy compliance, information risk management and advertising network compliance.
Developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive corporate Privacy Program to control and mitigate risk throughout the product/service lifecycle, including product/service design and related privacy policy management.
Managing and providing guidance to a team of two compliance analysts responsible for (i) ongoing compliance monitoring of publisher traffic and advertising campaigns and (ii) ensuring that advertising copy, creative assets and operational implementations comply with relevant laws, regulations and corporate policies.
Assessing privacy and compliance risk to the company and proactively working with business and legal teams to effectively mitigate such risk.
Providing expert guidance on changing privacy and advertising laws/regulations, revising marketing guidelines/internal policies as necessary and reporting material changes to management.
Running investigations of and managing responses to advertiser complaints and activities not in compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Meeting with strategic advertising clients to address their privacy/compliance needs and collaborating with business leaders to develop customized compliance solutions to provide a superior level of client service.
Ensuring the timely delivery of weekly and monthly compliance reports to key business leaders, and quarterly privacy and compliance updates to executive management.
Conducting ongoing monitoring and risk assessment of company data acquisition and use practices to ensure compliance with privacy laws, regulations, and internal policies.
CANDIDATE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Director of Privacy & Compliance who is an experienced, outgoing professional who will lead the Privacy & Compliance team at our Kansas City, MO headquarters. The Director reports to Adknowledge?s Chief Legal Officer. The successful candidate will have the following:
Minimum five years of experience in privacy, information risk management and/or compliance within the Internet advertising industry or other big data industry.
Minimum five years of experience advising on regulatory compliance gained working directly in the Internet advertising industry or big data industry or at a law, accounting or consulting firm advising clients on such compliance matters.
Minimum three years of management experience, including significant interactions with executive management.
Solid understanding of Internet industry operations, technologies and practices used to collect, store, access, transmit and retain data.
Experience working in, or closely with, an advertising network or exchange and third-party publishers is strongly preferred.
Bachelor?s degree in business administration, law, finance, accounting or a related discipline. CIPP, MBA, and/or JD preferred.
Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of Salesforce.com desirable.
