We're looking for an inventive, entrepreneurial, detail-orientated and ambitious Product Manager to work with the team building the platform that serves content to leading brands such as USA Today, Legal Zoom, Golfsmith and National Geographic. As Product Manager, you will be responsible for aspects of the Content Channels platform including feature requirements, metrics, optimization and new site design.
Responsibilities:- Work with name-brand customers to produce rich, engaging content experiences tailored to brand needs
- Produce product requirements and definition, including documentation, wireframes and flow diagrams for new features, enhancements and key initiatives
- Manage project oversight of planning, scheduling, development and testing priorities for partner sites
- Work closely with development and QA to prioritize product needs and produce timely product releases
- Liaison with other departments within Demand Media for insight into best practices around content engagement, search engine optimization, ad operations and overall performance
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for future product innovation based on internal experience, customer feedback and adjusting market conditions
- Maintain expertise of competitor, market and technology trends and proactively adjust product direction accordingly
- Collaborate with business development, marketing, account services, editorial and engineering to track and communicate ongoing to progress to project priorities
Requirements:- 5-7 years of significant product / project management experience in an online media site, social networking site, or ecommerce site
- Self starter; entrepreneurially minded; oriented towards over-delivering to expectations instead of delivering / meeting expectations
- Strong leadership skills; must establish credibility within teams as a knowledgeable, effective leader that knows where products are today and where they need to go
- Comfortable managing the technical aspects of a website/web product
- Experience with SEO and various monetization channels such as Google AdSense
- Proven track record as a product manager - complete life cycles of winning products in a fast-paced environment (prefer start-up experience)
- Working knowledge of the product development stages and process, and the technologies involved in web development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Omniture, Google Analytics and A-B Testing
- Must be a committed team player, able to work both independently and interact with executive management, and other staff members
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast pace environment
