The Director Product Manager has a key role in establishing Nexidia?s vision, strategy, and product roadmap for Nexidia?s Media Products. This role requires an experienced product management executive to lead product management for the award winning Dialogue Search and Nexidia QC, as well as identify innovative new uses for Nexidia?s unique, patented technology.
In 2013, the Media team released both Dialogue Search and Nexidia QC, which collectively won eight technology awards for design, innovation, and superior technology from market leading publications and industry associations. Our customers include top global companies in media and entertainment.
This position is ideally based within either the eastern or central time zones, with preference given to Atlanta, GA. This position reports to the SVP/GM, Media & Entertainment.
The Director of Product Management is the champion for his/her products throughout each product's lifecycle, from strategic definition to technical design to end-of-life planning. The objective of the role is to optimize product profitability by maximizing customer satisfaction through timely delivery of appropriate and useful products and features; with clearly articulated product positioning that effectively communicates the value proposition of the Nexidia product and or functionality. The Director of Product Management represents customer needs in product definition documents and on cross-functional program teams, ensures product acceptance in the market, and plans orderly transitions of products from one version to the next. Together with management and product development, this person will help the company develop a product roadmap that ensures Nexidia offers highly competitive solutions to its customers.
Essential functions of the Director of Product Management include developing market and product requirements for the Nexidia product/solution offering, based upon customer, competitive, technical, regulatory and market information, leading the organization to make key decisions. This role defines the plans for delivering the individual products to market, develops product positioning, packaging and pricing strategies, and champions the product launch process for and within Nexidia, including with potential customers.
The ideal candidate has a strong and comprehensive technical background and a deep understanding of professional media workflows and the associated tools, including media / production asset management systems, non-linear editing applications, quality control, orchestration, transcoding, and workflow management tools. This knowledge combined with experience integrating applications into a wide variety of media infrastructures and a demonstrated ability to grasp, and then articulate, technical concepts and environments to a wide variety of audiences. The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual who excels at working with cross-functional teams in a highly technical space and is comfortable in leading a team effort, as well as influencing others to achieve company objectives.

Extensive product management experience (7+ years) in the development of commercial software and or professional services used in broadcast media, media asset management, quality control, video editing, archive systems, storage, transcoding, orchestration and workflow management tools. Direct knowledge of media asset and product asset management system (Interplay, Dalet, etc..) implementation is a benefit. Direct knowledge of captioning and playout workflows are also a benefit.
Demonstrated experience in strategic product planning, product definition, competitive / market analysis, prioritization of features based on market opportunities, product positioning, creation, product roadmap management and management of user stories.
Demonstrated experience in identifying partnerships with complementary products; existing industry relationships are a benefit.
Experience in successfully creating pricing models for software based products and services.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineering, customers, prospective customers and partners to define product requirements. The creation and management of a customer advisory board for product, pricing and other points of feedback is a benefit.
Publically present Nexidia products and technology at industry events (NAB, IBC, HPA Tech Retreat, etc..), distribution partners, resellers, and customers.
Demonstrated experience in supporting sales and technical support processes; creation of technical and sales presentations for customer and partner presentation.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial approach; startup and or high growth experience is significant benefit.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Engineering background, specifically software development, is a benefit.
Written samples of market research, product proposals, technical requirements, user stories, and marketing documents which you have personally created or been directly responsible for creating
Experience presenting to C-level executives
Ability to travel 10-35%
Bachelor?s Degree Required (MBA preferred).
