You will primarily be located at EMN8?s San Diego, CA office with effective onsite and virtual interaction with the teams in the Los Angeles, CA; Alpharetta, GA; and, other regional business operations center. You will be required to travel domestically and internationally based on business needs and demands.
Reporting to the CTO / SVP, Product this is a classic Director, Product Management role with cradle to grave responsibility for managing and defining existing and new products, features and functions based on market and customer requirements. This includes but is not limited to: in-depth knowledge of the market, competitors and emerging trends; customer needs (internal and external); ability to craft MRDs, PRDs and use cases for development and operational execution; packaging, pricing and ROI from both a monetary and consumer adoption perspective. The ideal candidate will have exceptional project management, communication, analytical and leadership skills. In-depth technical knowledge and the ability to work effectively with customers to capture business requirements for product lines required. Experience in both enterprise and consumer product environments desired.
Cradle to grave responsibility for managing and defining existing and new products, features and functions based on market and customer requirements, including but not limited to:
In-depth knowledge of the market, competitors and emerging trends
Customer needs (internal and external)
Develop MRDs, PRDs, use cases and/or user stories for development and operational execution, working closely with the Product Development team to ensure requirements, functionality, usability and other elements are fully defined and appropriate to and/or mature the product development process
Packaging, pricing and ROI from both a monetary and consumer adoption perspective Conduct market research, surveys, and customer/prospect visits to understand and specify business requirements for target market segments
Define business requirements and business cases with ROI and value proposition for the EMN8 suite of products; post development and launch of project or feature, analyze actual versus projected ROI and reason(s) for variance
Act as central point of contact on software requirements gathering and analysis based on customer input, competition, business strategy and industry analyst considerations
Analyze competitive offerings to identify differentiators, and recommend product pricing
Complete Win/Loss analysis to glean insight from previous sales engagements
Document and report on product profitability and operational product metrics
Define user personas/use cases to gain understanding from each perspective
Create business cases for new product developments
Work with software/hardware development, sales, marketing, customer care, field support operations to convert requirements into products that meet standards or current/prospective clients
On an as-needed, requested basis:
Assist Marketing and Sales to create collateral that accurately reflects the features, functionality and benefits of the EMN8 suite of products, define go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits and target customers
Analyze partnership opportunities for products and/or integrated solutions
Represent the voice of customers in senior level management meetings
Participate in internal and external customer meetings pre- and post- sale
? Build and implement defined, disciplined, repeatable, measurable and sustainable product management processes
Other duties as required, or directed
BA/BS in business, marketing, or closely related field; MBA preferred
Minimum of 5 years? experience in product management in customer-facing, technology related product management role, with direct responsibility for people, products and processes
Previous demonstrated external customer-facing experience a MUST
Demonstrated deep understanding of the product planning/management process, and strong knowledge software development processes
Exceptional product management experience; strong marketing, sales and software engineer/development experience highly desired
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and work with persons at all levels of an organization and across all functions
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Solid business acumen, management, and marketing communications skills
Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Visio; Project Management
The ability to travel up to 20% of the time
