Astute is the leading provider of solid state flash-based performance storage appliances for physical and virtual environments that increase performance, enhance user productivity, and lower IT costs. The company?s ViSX family of Networked Flash appliances is based on a 100% solid state Flash technology that cost-effectively delivers a high number of sustained IOPS and extremely low latency to dramatically increase application performance. Powered by its patented DataPump Engine? , ViSX overcomes performance limitations by non-disruptively delivering shared performance to all servers and virtual machines over pervasively-deployed Ethernet networks.
Experience ? 5 to 10 plus years in product marketing and/or management, closely related technical marketing, and/or systems engineering in an enterprise or SMB infrastructure software, hardware, storage or networking company. Start-up experience a plus. Experience with networked storage products (SAN, NAS, storage management software, etc.) and either or both SSD flash and cloud technology a strong plus. Knowledge of marketing to vertical markets (some or all of education, healthcare, manufacturing, or similar).
Responsibilities: Reporting to the VP, Marketing, the director is responsible for researching the competitive landscape, understanding industry trends and becoming a competitive expert to assist field sales and product development team.
Understand the market dynamics and customer requirements for high performance solid state storage.
Develop and maintain sales tools that help our sales team, channel partners and customers better understand our products and their value proposition.
Create product training presentations.
Engage the press/analyst/blogger community to educate them on the features and benefits of our product.
Be the chief technical marketing evangelist of our products and attend/speak at industry conferences and events.
Target Companies ? HP, Dell, EMC, NetApp, Pure, Cisco/Whiptail, NexGen, Nimbus, Tintri, Tegile, Hitachi Data Systems, Skyera, Nimble, Violin Systems, etc.
Education ? Degreed in Marketing, Business, or an Engineering discipline required, with an advanced degree a plus.
