Director of Product Marketing
The Director of Product Marketing is responsible for the outbound marketing activities for Narus software. This encompasses product positioning, product strategy, collateral creation, and execution of product marketing programs. This position requires a solid understanding of Cybersecurity, big-data and analytics. The ideal candidate will be able to understand market needs, work with customers, sales, product management and other stakeholders to develop and clearly articulate market requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the items listed below.
Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Narus software products and solutions in the market
o Ensure that messaging resonates with customers, analysts and sales
o Ensure that the message is consistent with the corporate brand yet specifically tuned to the markets in which Narus operates and for which the products are targeted.
o Effectively communicate Narus? position to sales, channel partners, customers and analysts.
Create sales tools and training
o Communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling of Narus products
o Create customer case studies with input from sales team to document application stories for key target customers and train sales team on the concepts
Conduct competitive analysis/market research
o Develop and produce market research insight reports and detailed sales ready competitive analysis (products and technology). Work with product management and field teams to develop messaging and material to help position Narus in the minds of the buyers
o Identify new key markets for Narus software and solutions.
Develop content in collaboration with internal stakeholders that will help drive customer engagement, thought leadership and content marketing.
Help conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand
o Responsible for collecting the requisite content for inclusion on the Narus web from others in the organization and work with our webmaster to ensure high SEO ratings based on content and keeping that content current.
7-10 years of software product marketing experience with at least 2 years experience in a field facing role
Experience in a product marketing capacity for an enterprise software company, and an understanding of applications and IT infrastructure will also be extremely beneficial. Experience with big data analytics, SIEM/SEM, traffic analytics, network monitoring, forensics, security appliances, visualization tools are important.
Experience working with sales, customers and analysts in presenting the company position and products.
Bachelor?s in engineering, mathematics, computer science, business or marketing; MBA Preferred
Very strong written communication and presentation skills. Comfortable in front of customers
Previous success in the development and the execution of integrated product marketing plans
Quick thinking and poised.
Period long work hours required
Willing to travel 20%
Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
Experience in Network Operation Center, Security Operation Center or defense systems integrator is highly desirable.
