The Director Project Management will play a critical role as a member of our Technology team and extend throughout the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Manager who will become a key member of our exciting technology team. The ideal candidate will have worked on major software projects and understand how to manage projects within an Agile SDLC. The successful candidate will have experience being the technology face to the business team. The candidate should also have worked extensively with an outsourced firm to deliver a multi-million dollar project on time and within scope. There will be heavy interaction in this role with the sales and operations teams.
The Director Project Management has the primary responsibility to plan, organize, and manage resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. Director Project Management is part of the technology team and strives to maintain the progress and productive interaction of business managers and software development team in such a way that projects are delivered on time.
Key Job Elements:
- Manage the delivery of large outsourced projects.
- Manage the technology installation of Partsearch delivered projects to the client base.
- Have managed a team of delivery personnel including project managers.
- Develop project plans with business and technology teams in support of B2B, B2C, and call center applications
- Ability to multi-task among different projects, along with the capacity to respond immediately to production/maintenance issues
- Excellent writing skills; must pay extreme attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills: listening, understanding, negotiating skills between business & IT; can lead discussions with business users, clients, designers/developers, data architecture, senior management
- Work with the product manager and business analysts to document the product vision and scope.
- Identify project stakeholders, project scope, and project risks. Identify risk mitigation plan and appropriate owners for each project risk and negotiate their responsibilities.
- Work with product manager and business analysts in requirements prioritization.
- Manage changes to the project through effective application of change control processes and tools.
- Establish, document and implement effective SDLC practices within an agile environment.
Qualifications:
- Prefer a minimum of 7- 10 years experience in a relevant role, preferably a high volume Web application or software as a service.
- Experience in managing large indirect workforces, large outsource teams, and direct management of project managers.
- Experience in an Agile SDLC.
- An understanding of project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring and controlling, and project closing and the ability to apply them in practice.
- Excellent skills and experience working with the business teams in coordinating technical deliverables.
- Knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise software products are positioned and developed.
- Exposure to any of the following would be a plus: Internet Retail, CRM, Supply Chain, Service Industry, CRP Industry, Reporting Products, etc.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Team player.
- Undergrad degree required, Masters in business or PMP certification preferred.
