JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Project Management will oversee the planning and execution of products, primarily those involving digital projects and technology development, from start to finish for the Product Management Team. Key areas of responsibility include understanding and communicating project and program status, maintaining project milestones and roadmap planning. The Director, Project Management will work closely with product management, development, IT operations, marketing and other groups to coordinate the development of projects and ensure that assigned projects are executed appropriately. The Director must have a solid understanding of existing and emerging digital technologies and multimedia capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and manage complex cross-functional projects that may include internal or external resources
Formulate and gain approval for overall project plan in consultation with executives, product management, technology and other key stakeholders
Provide regular project performance status, identify variances to plan and recommend corrective actions
Monitor project progress and implement adjustments or contingencies as needed to maintain commitments
Coordinate between projects, maximize synergies, and help resolves resource conflicts
Build and maintain accountability and predictability for new product releases
Provide input and ideas as part of product roadmap and technology planning processes
Work hand in hand with functional leadership in the planning and deployment of resources
Build and maintain the project planning process and define cross-functional touch points and updates
Balance product and business demands with technical constraints, resource capacity or capability limitations
Understand and discuss technical concepts and ideas with non-technical and technical employees
Interpret technical requirements, accounting for abstract and concrete variables, in order to draw conclusions and make project recommendations
Manage concurrent projects with shared resources

Experience in a PHP/Java environment is highly desirable.
Power user of project planning applications, preferably Visio. Business and Problem Solving Skills: Strong problem solving skills with a keen eye towards execution that drives tangible results.
Demonstrated capability to manage large amounts of data, understand business dynamics and think globally and strategically.
Power user of Excel.
Able to rapidly learn various internal systems and tools .

EXPERIENCE
BA/BS and 6 years+ of experience in project management, product management or related technical roles
Proven ability to lead teams and achieve challenging objectives with indirect management of functional resources.
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners/clients
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
Organizational skills such as task management, cost justification and decision making
Experienced in development of products within a structured design and project management methodology
Experience managing all facets of project lifecycles including strategy, user experience architecture, design, development, QA and implementation.
4+ years of experience in Database Administration or Analytics
