Director, Purchasing Gilt Groupe

Responsibilities:

Reviews practices to improve process efficiencies and identifies where purchasing policies and procedures should be implemented
Meets cost saving targets through the establishment of budgetary controls
Obtains approvals, negotiates and places orders
Maintains files of purchase orders, vendors, prices, etc.
Prepares and monitors capital and expense budgets, processes invoices, analyzes bids and helps negotiate contracts and agreements
Introduces competitive bidding and obtains quotes from vendors and suppliers as to price, delivery and other details. Obtains approvals, negotiates and places Purchase Orders. Insures delivery schedules, quantity and quality specifications are met. Assists with the development of a corporate purchasing system via Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders and SOX compliance
Identifies cost avoidance and saving opportunities through value analysis and a reduction of waste, errors and inefficiencies
Understands audit controls and establishes checks and balances to ensure effective expenditure of company funds
Establishes project cost controls, saving opportunities and tracking reports
Maintains integrity and the highest ethical standards


Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Purchasing, Finance or related business field
7 to 10 years experience, to include a supervisory background, managing internal stakeholders, vendors and trades
Excellent analytical and communications skills with a demonstrated record of sourcing and negotiating that have lead to bottom line profitability
Strong negotiator with an ability to build consensus among diverse internal customers and stakeholders
Familiarity with procurement and contract compliance and a consciousness of strong internal controls and corporate governance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication skills and a proven ability to multi-task and provide a constant evaluation of, and flexible response to, rapidly shifting business priorities.
