THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Director, Sales Training and Development will play an integral role in the success of the Sales organization. Specifically s/he will:
Work closely with Sales Management and others to create and execute a comprehensive Sales Development curriculum to include:
Designing and executing new hire training and development programs for sales, lead generation and account management teams
Creation and execution of ongoing and advanced training and development programs for the existing sales team, which could include: product launches, competitive information, process and operational changes, and sales skills (i.e negotiation, presentation)
Development and execution of Sales Management development programs
Be responsible for all aspects of the Sales Development program, including the identification of needs and requirements, development of the program, execution, and measuring effectiveness.
Identify external vendors and programs that align to the needs of the Vocus Sales team.
Assist field sales management with individual coaching and team training, as well as with individual development plans as necessary
Work with HR and Sales Management to ensure that programs are aligned to sales competencies
Share knowledge of best practices associated with training adult learners and specifically sales people
Leverage training methodologies that are appropriate to the audience, including use of e-learning, LMS and other technologies.
Manage a small team of Sales Training Managers.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree requiredwith a minimum of 10 years applicable professional experience.
Minimum 5 years in Sales and / or Sales Management with proven quota attainment.
Minimum 5 years in a Training role dedicated to providing training and development to a large quota carrying sales team.
Proven expertise with inside sales best practices and sales methodologies
Proven people management experience in a Sales Training function
Experience creating and designing Sales Training Curriculum.
Exposure to /completion of several leading sales methodologies and experience having implemented/measured a methodology.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects. simultaneously (this is basically asking for flexibility).
Strong coaching and feedback skills.
High level of independent judgment and decision making ability.
Strong collaboration skills across a highly matrixed organization
Experience in a Software sales environment
Certifications as a trainer for one or more of the following: Solution Selling, Miller Heiman methodologies, Corporate Visions, Challenger Selling.
