The Director, Sales Training directs the development, deployment and management of all sales training initiatives and programs for Durata Therapeutics, Inc. Develops training curriculum for the field-based organization in the following areas: product/technical knowledge, selling skills, account management, institutional procedures, regulatory procedures including PDMA guidelines, etc. Facilitates formal and informal presentations to senior management, sales organization, and other internal functions as appropriate. Provides guidance within the sales organization and shares best practices in an effort to promote continuous learning and best practices. Manages complex vendor relationships to ensure quality and timeliness of third-party deliverables. Responsible for logistics that impact sales training and related meetings / conferences.
Directs the efforts to identify, design and integrate developmental frameworks, curriculum design and learning solutions for Durata field based employees.
Facilitates the design and execution of the full continuum of training and development needed to meet business objectives.
Manages each stage of the ADDIE process for technical and professional development training programs.
Demonstrates proficiency in adult learning theory and incorporates that theory into the design of learning and development programs.
Responsible for establishing the strategic direction of the sales training group, and for overseeing the implementation of learning and leadership initiatives that support Durata?s business strategy.
Works closely and collaboratively with Durata?s leadership in the development and execution of programs that enable marketing initiatives.
Accountable for management/leadership training curriculum and execution to include leadership development programs.
Ensures that programs and related processes support a culture of compliance with PDMA and other relevant regulations.
Identifies vendors as needed and is accountable for all relevant contract negotiations, contract deliverables and ongoing vendor relationship management.
Responsible for all aspects of meeting planning and logistics required to support training programs, meetings and conferences.
Minimum of ten years of biotech/pharmaceutical sales / sales training experience.
Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and related training techniques.
Experience managing third-party providers.
Impeccable record of integrity, fair dealing, intelligence and enthusiasm
Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the organization; excellent oral and written communication skills required including presentation experience and project management skills.
Self-motivating, must have the drive to work with a sense of ownership for the position and department. Ability to work in fast-paced environment, fast learner.
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
Master?s Degree in Business
Field management experience including experience as a field trainer
