| Description: | Director Sampling and Promotions Job ID 2681 Job Location New York, NY Job Category Sales Date Posted Dec 1, 2009 Active Marketing Group is seeking a high level consultative sales / business development person to help lead the growth of our Sampling & Promotions business (and overall AMG business). This is a traditional sales position; however, the group culture offers potential for new ideas, suggestions and solutions. This new sales person will enjoy the responsibilities and pressures of calling on the top CPG (consumer packaged good) companies in most cases working directly with other recent MBA graduates at these companies. In addition, this sales person will also be able to identify and serve smaller, endemic clients providing a wide range of client responsibilities. The sales process is one that is consultative and insightful. Marketing knowledge, overall business acumen, creativity and superb selling skills are critical to the position, as are boundless enthusiasm and strong self-confidence. This salesperson will be responsible for all stages of the sales cycle, including: client research, account strategy, prospecting, developing consumer rapport, proposal generation, negotiating, closing and providing client service (with Solutions and Account Management teams to support) Qualifications: MBA preferred Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience in a consultative sales, client services & strategy or similar role Experience in an advertising/sponsorship sales, promotional agency or brand management is a plus Candidates must demonstrate the following: Ability to quickly understand the Active Consumer market, either through past branding & targeting efforts, or personal interest and participation in an active lifestyle Proactively Prospect, Qualify, Grow, and Maintain a territory and account list Develop and cultivate deep relationships with brand and marketing managers as well as agency senior executives and account executives Engage and strategize with brand managers and agencies to demonstrate how Active can drive brand trial, awareness and revenue for their brand or clients Exceptional networking skills, prospecting skills and strong closing skills Strong writing skills and presentation skills with a track record of sales wins. Hit target revenue quota (quarterly) Identify and understand trends within client markets and industries The ability and desire to help develop and mold a fast-growing organization & regional office Qualities including: tenacity, work ethic, confidence, polish, sense of urgency and a proven track record of success Compensation includes strong base salary, commissions and bonuses and is dependant on individual qualifications.
