The Director of Search Engine Marketing will work closely with our VP of Acquisition to drive lead flow and new business through the SEM channel. This key position requires a successful search marketing track record, strong analytical skills and a relentless focus on continuous optimization and ROI. In this (hands on) role, you will work with product and regional marketing leaders to define the overall strategy and direct the implementation of that strategy in multiple geographies and languages, including key markets such as the United States, UK/Europe, Australia, Middle East, Russian region, China and Southeast Asia. You will also be a key stakeholder in evolving our SEO and Social Media strategies.
Responsibilities:
Create, manage and grow PPC & search retargeting campaigns - including strategy, day-to-day management of multi-million dollar global search budget, and management of SEM agency/vendor relationships.
Work with Regional Marketing teams and internal creative teams to plan and implement new campaigns ? developing key word lists, text ads and landing pages. Collaborate with other members of the acquisition team to develop multi-channel campaigns.
Continuously and systematically optimize search portfolio, developing testing strategies and plans. Develop and implement challenger campaigns, ads, and landing pages with split and multivariate tests. Work with agency on bid optimization and testing strategies.
Leverage existing reporting and website analytics to measure and report on effectives of both SEM and SEO.
Analyze existing campaigns- with large amounts of data - identifying trends and opportunities/issues, quickly driving changes and enhancements.
Make recommendations on SEO, Content and Social Media opportunities and help drive continuous website improvements to optimize search portfolio.
Evaluate and make recommendations on improving current SEM programs, agency relationships, tracking and reporting systems.
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS in Marketing, Economics, Math or relevant field, MBA a plus.
Minimum 6 years of SEM or performance-based marketing experience a must, agency experience a plus.
Proven expert in Adwords and other leading search engines. Familiarity with bid optimization practices and tools a plus.
Strong analytical skills. Expert in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Omniture.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, results and deadline driven environment.
Experience leading relationships with external agencies and partners.
Superior organizational skills to establish/maintain productive cross-functional relationships in a collaborative team-based environment.
Retail financial services and/or international marketing experience a plus.
