Director, Search Engine Marketing Art.com Inc.
The Director of SEM is a critical role on our global Marketing leadership team, and a significant contributor for overall revenue and customer experience. The optimal candidate will be a data-driven leader with a proven track record managing a complex and substantial in house SEM program. You will own all aspects strategy and performance of the channel, including Product Management of our proprietary SEM system. As the lead for SEM, you will have responsibility for SEM ordered sales globally (for 3 brands and 25 domains), overseeing strategy, analytics, and product management. You will be the primary liaison and partner with contacts at Google, MSN and Yahoo.
Relationship Management: Owns partner management / relationships with the platforms (Google/MSN/Yahoo). Responsible for understanding and pro-actively addressing trends, or changes to products, algorithms or market influences.
Ownership of SEM program: Achieve specific channel performance targets, drive traffic and conversion. Weekly analysis and reporting of performance metrics to senior management. Define and execute an SEM roadmap aligning team goals to business objectives and improving keyword generation, bid optimization, landing page resolution and testing, ad text testing, campaign management and reporting tools.
Improve customer experience and related KPIs: Planning, designing, implementing and rapidly iterating split (A/B and multivariate) tests against customer segments, product categories and various platforms/devices to provide an optimal guest experience with superior ROI.
Analysis and Analytics: Collaborate with Web Optimization, Merchandising and CRM teams to define site instrumentation, media attribution models, lifetime value models and media mix analysis and optimization.
Team Leader and Mentor: Lead, manage and mentor a talented team of channel technical experts, analysts and campaign managers.
4+ years in SEM for a leading consumer-facing e-commerce or technology company.
Significant experience with in house (proprietary) SEM system.
Experience managing a team.
Deep knowledge of SEM, deep data analytics and test design. Must have significant prior experience with PPC within Google, MSN, Yahoo platforms.
Technically conversant (hands on technical experience a plus) in relevant areas with prior experience directing/managing in house SEM system.
Great influence, partnering, and collaboration skills.
Excellent communication skills and strong executive presence.
