Position Summary:
Steelwedge is looking for a Director/Senior Manager of Sales Development who has demonstrated strong business acumen, inspirational leadership skills and an excellent ability to coach and mentor phone-based lead generation teams. A track record delivering team results for teams focused on medium & large enterprises and positioning complex enterprise software or software-as-a-service solutions and/or applications is an advantage. This position reports to the Vice President, Global Marketing and is based in Pleasanton, California.
The Director/Senior Manager of Sales Development will work closely and in collaboration with the Steelwedge marketing and sales organizations to continually refine the lead generation and qualification process.
Experience in any of the following areas would be a clear advantage, although not a requirement: Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Financial Planning or Business Intelligence. Additionally, systems experience with a CRM system, preferably Salesforce.com is a plus.
Position Responsibilities:
Hire, train, and manage a team of inbound/outbound Business Development Representatives (BDRs) supporting North American and EMEA sales teams
Regularly report on defined weekly and monthly metrics to sales & marketing leadership
Drive individuals and team to exceed objectives through coaching and leadership
Coach BDRs to use best practices and tools (LinkedIn, SFDC) to maximize lead production
Monitor and refine lead processes and metrics to ensure efficient prospect information exchange and hand-off to sales
Conduct weekly meetings with BDRs to review individual and team performance using activity dashboards and lead pipeline reports
Work closely with team/rep to ensure lead quantity and quality objectives are being met
Design scripts and competitive positioning
Identify and implement recommendations for improvement in the areas of BDR efficiency and productivity
Build internal relationships with key constituents, including sales, product and marketing teams
Work closely with marketing on defining campaign follow-up and reporting
Monitor and reinforce use of CRM tool (Salesforce.com)
Manage all aspects of personnel from defining goals and OTE compensation to coaching for high performance and career development
Required Skills and Experience:
Five plus years of experience in inside sales management or sales development management, preferably in the high tech industry
Proven experience successfully managing people to achieve performance goals
A consistent proven track record of over achievement of quota
Outstanding communication, organizational and time management skills
Ability to build strong relationships with internal team members through collaboration and teaming
Professional, energetic, positive attitude
Bachelor's degree required
