ViewRay is looking for an experienced engineering leader, familiar with design and reliability processes, as well as cost reduction and supply management activities. The candidate will be responsible for building a best-in-class manufacturing engineering team and ramping up associated activities to ensure successful growth of our MRI-guided Radiation Therapy business. The position reports to the VP of Manufacturing and will be based in Mountain View, CA.
The position encompasses 3 primary areas of responsibility ? NPI, product reliability and serviceability, and supply chain. The ME team will work hand-in-hand with design engineering to ensure new products are launched on time while meeting cost, reliability and serviceability requirements. They will own the production transfer phase of the New Product Development process. Once in production, the ME team owns system uptime and reliability tracking and has primary responsibility to identify, develop and implement design changes and upgrades areas to achieve operating cost and uptime/serviceability targets. The ME team will also provide technical support and leadership to our aggressive cost-down initiative programs, as well as provide overall technical support for our supplier management process.
Background and Experience:
7 years of progressive technical leadership with a combination of roles in design, development and production.
Experience in a medical capital equipment environment - prefer experience in medical linacs and/or MRI
Experience in both large organizations ? prefer top medical equipment companies (Philips, GE, Siemens, Varian, Elekta) ? and small (start-up) companies
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Physics or related field
Track record of successes in driving operational efficiencies and cost reductions through Lean, 6 Sigma or other continuous improvement processes
Experience in supplier cost-down initiatives ? strong negotiations skills highly desirable
Expert level understanding of BOM structuring, engineering process, and engineering best practices
Knowledgeable in reliability engineering and design for manufacturing and serviceability
Working level competence in MRP/ERP systems
Working level competence in ISO 13485/cGMP quality systems
Strong leadership skills and proven track record of building successful teams
Strong bias for action, excellent presentation and communication skills
Ability to communicate and interact effectively, both vertically and horizontally
