DIRECTOR / SR DIRECTOR OF SYSTEMS ENGINEERING ViewRay
This is a senior level management role to drive programs for the development and enhancement of ViewRay?s MRI-guided Radiotherapy technology. Successful candidate will build and manage a team of electrical, software and systems engineers to drive programs by applying sound systems engineering principles. The team is directly responsible for the development and maintenance of control systems encompassing but not limited to the areas of radiation beam generation, beam collimation, electro-mechanical systems, patient positioning systems, and integration with MR imaging system. Director of Systems Engineering will report into the Vice President of Engineering.
Apply sound systems engineering principles to define and drive engineering projects with system-wide considerations to continuously improve capabilities of ViewRay?s MRI-guided radiotherapy products.
Drive programs for the development and enhancement of radiotherapy control systems for application in ViewRay?s MRI-guided radiotherapy technology.
Assess the current and long-term needs in the area of radiotherapy technology for the ViewRay system and champion a roadmap of continuous product development and improvements in this area.
Build and manage a team of electrical, software and systems engineers to execute the roadmap in MRI-guided radiotherapy.
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
Serve as a key technology and business contact for component vendors for radiotherapy technology and manage product development and continuous improvement programs with them
Work with Research, Product Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and other groups within ViewRay to ensure that the business needs for the company in the area of radiotherapy hardware are met.
Desired Skills and Experience
MS or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or other physical sciences
10 years of experience in the development complex electro-mechanical systems, preferably in the field of radiotherapy or medical imaging
5 years of management experience including leading teams, projects, and programs or directing the allocation of resources
5 years of experience leading cross-functional program teams spanning multiple disciplines of engineering and physical sciences.
A strong understanding and experience in application of process, regulations and standards for medical device industry Strong business acumen with the proven ability to influence organizations
Strong oral and written communications skills; strong interpersonal skills
Experience working with contract development firms and contract manufacturers
Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity, ability to see the big picture
