Description
The Director, Strategy & Business Development will oversee the company?s strategic planning and business development activities. The position tracks overall industry development and trends and manages the process for senior leadership to define and develop long-range organizational goals and objectives to succeed in our industry. The position will provide research or analysis to develop recommendations to support the strategic, business development, new growth or competitive needs of the business. This position will serve as a key liaison between potential partners and the vAuto, Inc. in pursuit of strategic, business development or new growth opportunities.
Oversees long-range strategic planning activities of vAuto.
Provides analysis, guidance, input and challenges assumptions for product and business unit plans.
Provides research or analysis to develop recommendations to support the strategic, business development, new growth or competitive needs of the business.
Lead full acquisition lifecycle of evaluation, analysis, recommendation, negotiation, due diligence, internal coordination (legal, PR, senior management, finance, operations, etc.) of acquisitions according to senior management goals.
Identifies, evaluates and recommends acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures and internal start-ups to support the company's strategic and product goals. Negotiates approved business relationships for targeted products and services.
Monitors competitive landscape; Identifies competitive risk
To work with parties internal to vAuto who have business-development related needs
Investigate and evaluate acquisitions, mergers, licensing opportunities, joint ventures and strategic business alliances that align with the company?s business strategy.
Develop relevant proposals, implementation plans, identify required initiatives and recommend options to senior management.
Identify and evaluate opportunities for entry into international markets in support of the company?s long term strategic objectives.
Oversee reporting on strategic objectives as needed
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Business Development, Automotive Advertising/Software/ Marketing or Strategic Planning.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing cross-functional teams of individuals from various professional disciplines.
Strategic Planning, Business Development, Financial Analysis, Negotiating and Project Management skills are critical to this position.
Experience where strategic plans have been successfully developed and executed.
Marketing or Business Development skills are key assets.
Ability to leverage internal and external resources across functions, and businesses to identify, evaluate, and implement initiatives is a critical skill set.
Ability to operate across all functional groups and interact with all levels of management within the organization and have strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, project management and organizational skills.
Ability to travel as needed, up to 75%.
Bachelors required; MBA or equivalent degree strongly preferred.
