The Director, Technology Operations will be tasked with delivering the strategic and tactical framework necessary to support and operate a high volume, high-transaction, dynamic, and rapidly changing 24/7 systems environment. The Director owns the implementation and management of all hardware, software, networks, vendor connectivity and the operation of applications designed to target highest response and 100% availability. This individual will work closely with internal and external teams and vendors to guarantee continuous site availability, delivery on Service Level Agreements, and maintaining site performance and operation.
Develops and executes the direction and delivery for the technology operations and systems functions to maintain system performance, stability, reliability, recoverability, and application execution.
Establishes the policies, procedures, and practices to operate the site at full capability while supporting continuous expansion. Executes consistently with a focus on operational excellence.
Leads and manages the architecture, design and implementation of the systems and network infrastructure to provide low latency, high-performance solutions.
Directs the daily operation and delivery of critical business applications.
Creates and drives the operations team to act and proactively identify areas of improvement to attain higher system performance, reliability, and recoverability.
Develops and executes high degrees of automated processes in support of the delivery of infrastructure and systems.
Delivers continuous improvement in the identification and resolution of problems.
Focuses on the people, processes, training, and repeatable actions necessary to reduce downtime and improve issue detection, response and recovery.
Establishes and maintains appropriate operational tools, monitoring methods, and site metrics to provide meaningful metric reporting and trends.
Manages outages and events that impact client-facing services as well as back-office business support services.
Develops escalation procedures to ensure reliable operations and response to incidents.
Delivers improvements and changes as necessary to repair recurring issues and proactively identify and prevent other issues affecting the site operation or client experience.
Owns and drives the Root Cause Analysis process for system, third party, and application failures.
Meets regularly with the executive teams to ensure all aspects of technology operations advanced are clearly defined and executed on in a continuous and timely fashion.
Maintains close working relationships with internal teams and vendors to establish and/or maintain service level agreements, support, and management methodologies.
Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Management or equivalent work experience.
Ten plus years of progressively responsible experience managing and designing all aspects of system, network, and site operations in a fast paced environment.
Multiple years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, and implementing enterprise class, high-availability, and open-system environments.
Ability to lead by example with high character.
Must be available 24 x 7.
Excellent interdepartmental communication skills.
Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Must be located within 1 hour of Atlanta, Georgia (Midtown).
Hands-on experience with running a front line 24x7 operations team.
Proven track record in developing the staff, tools, and processes required for a high volume and highly available operation.
Experience working with custom software.
Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning.
Experience with cloud computing infrastructure.
High level of technical understanding and competence across multiple intersecting disciplines to be able to quickly analyze situations, correlate ideas, and make decisions.
