Responsible for the strategic direction of Vertafore sales, service and support training programs. Core responsibilities include the assessment of organizational needs, leading a team to manage curriculum design and implementation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of members of Vertafore?s Sales, Service and Support teams; collaborate with internal customers/partners to identify opportunities and deliver training solutions to meet those needs.
WHO ARE YOU?
You provide overall direction for training programs and organizational learning needs.
Plans, coordinates, develops and implements training programs, including but not limited to; new hire orientation, ongoing enablement training, operational policies, procedures and practices, and tools/systems training.
Coordinates preparation of instructional materials, training aids, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids for current and future training sessions
Develops internal training courses for members of the teams and plan course curricula with business partners with an emphasis on job competencies, professional skills, and product and industry knowledge
Follows instructional design process from needs assessment through evaluation. Utilizes expertise of business partners and team members to develop appropriate materials, instructional content and delivery mechanisms that are applicable based on experience/knowledge levels (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels)
Collaborates with Product Management, Marketing and other internal organizations to develop, implement and conduct training courses associated with the introduction of new products and service offerings
Coordinates all training programs and courses leveraging various delivery methods including classroom, virtual, workshops and individual coaching to improve the performance of sales associates
Other items that are important:
Leverage established and effective training methods, techniques, and ideas
Develop technology-assisted distance learning
Schedule and plan presentations by internal or outside speakers, motivational experts, and product specialists
Work collaboratively with leadership and reports on progress of trainees and employees under guidance during initial and ongoing training periods
Contact employee pre- and post-training event as appropriate to ensure successful training experience
Maintain records of training activities to augment employee development programs
Monitor effectiveness of programs by measuring achievement against relevant performance metrics
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Experience with creation of full life cycle training plans & training materials
Excellent knowledge of training principles, techniques, and tools such as ?train the trainer? and e-learning
Excellent planning, time management, communication, negotiation, leadership, decision-making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, work independently and work in a team environment with minimal supervision
Skill in developing training programs and curriculum to meet individual and group needs and to adapt programs/curriculum to changing organizational priorities
Project management skills, e.g. setting objectives, coordinating resources, and meeting project deadlines
Ability to execute training function objectives, goals and plans
Minimum 5 years? experience in a high-tech environment
Minimum 3 years managing a team of curriculum development and delivery resources
Minimum 8 -10 years training experience
Experience in successful delivery of training to large groups
Experience with social and informal learning methodologies
Experience launching and developing a Learning Management System (LMS) highly desired
Experience with Customer Centric Selling and Salesforce.com preferred
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required
General Business
Understanding of general business issues including external factors that impact the business and industry
Demonstrated ability to follow sound business ethics when executing job responsibilities to build and maintain management confidence
Strong technical skills ? Word, Excel, MS Office, PowerPoint
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
