FirstRain is growing fast and we?re now looking for a Director, User Experience (UX) in our San Mateo, CA
headquarters to oversee our UX strategy and design. This is a rare opportunity to join a company that is

interactions and modern design elements. We?re looking for someone who can help us achieve our goal of
delivering customers a best-in-class enterprise solution experience every day.
Areas of responsibility:
? Design Leadership: This role includes hands-on UX design. FirstRain?s service is deployed
across diverse experiences, including mobile, Web, email and stand-alone components. You will
be a key decision maker, design reviewer and project owner for all of these experiences.
? User Experience: This director will be responsible for UX in a real-time information delivery
platform and set the broad direction of FirstRain?s product experience. They will be the go-to
person for questions about current product user experience and forward-looking design decisions
at all levels.
? User Advocacy: This person will be the voice of the user and their primary advocate. They will
collect, analyze and incorporate feedback from customers; be an advocate for their concerns,
leverage research methodologies to communicate with users, understand usage and adjust
product design to best meet customers? needs.
? Design Strategy: This director must become aware of similar products and emerging design
trends, immersing themselves in the full product experience while isolating points of competitive
value and impact.
? Product Planning: The UX Design team works in conjunction with Product Management, Field
Services and Engineering to deliver products to customers. This director will be responsible for
managing design resources to deliver on goals, plan work with peers, etc.
? People Management: This person will develop a world-class, small team of designers focused on
visual and interaction design and information architecture. They will be responsible for recruiting
Director, User Experience (UX)and developing designers, performance and career management, and mentoring junior team
This role requires that you have:
? At least 10 years of experience in UX design, supported by enterprise interface design examples,
ideally for corporate productivity and intelligence solutions.
? A solid understanding of interactive Web technologies and industry trends.
? Proven experience developing creative design solutions for user problems.
? A history of successful leadership and working collaboratively across an organization.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
? Proven ability to collect and understand relevant data, patterns and trends and apply them to
create superior user experiences.
