MuleSoft seeks a driven and experienced business development professional who possesses a strategic mindset coupled with a bent for execution. This person will inherit a set of ‘ready to scale' relationships, and will be expected to deliver new ones.
This position reports to the Vice President of Corporate and Business Development â€" you will have immediate impact in driving successful initiatives across multiple corporate functions, including marketing, engineering, services, and direct sales.
The Role:You have a strong mix of strategic instincts, analytical prowess and ability to execute on multiple concurrent workstreams. You believe passionately that partnerships are key to building a large and successful technology company. You personally love identifying, recruiting, enabling, and scaling partnerships from cradle to grave, while driving adoption/leads and partner revenue.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:- Own the on-premise software ecosystem strategy, execution plan, and results
- Execute on strategic initiatives by identifying, signing, enabling, and scaling key partnerships, and maintaining a robust ongoing business pipeline
- Work closely with MuleSoft services, marketing, engineering, and direct sales teams as appropriate to launch and enable partners
- Within your first 30 days, build a plan to generate measurable sales & marketing plans with key partners.
- Within your first 90 days, show measurable progress and results towards key partnerships, and a detailed plan for the year.
Key Competencies:- You have recent and relevant experience in a strategic/technology consulting role or software startup, and want to work in a small company that is scaling up quickly.
- You have demonstrated a consistent track record of over-achieving your objectives, having an outsized impact on the companies you've worked for, and show a path of promotion in your career.
- You can quickly understand a partner prospect's offerings and go to market relative to ours, and quickly assess potential as well as show how the relationship adds value to both parties.
- You intuitively understand and know how and when apply the 'right amount' of process along with the 'right amount' of creativity and speed (also known as 'start up cultureâ€).
- You live for the team win - must love working cross functionally, both internally and externally. Must have the capability to communicate and work effectively with engineers, product managers, marketing, and sales at all levels.
- You are great at structuring partnership deals that both meet MuleSoft's objectives while ensuring a healthy win/win with partners
- You are highly organized and can coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple activities simultaneously.
- You love to sell and overcome objections and challenges and have a consistent 'can-do' attitude toward work performance in a small company with limited resources.
Bonus Competencies:- You have some recent experience in open source, and/or enterprise middleware software companies.
- You have relevant experience working with systems integration firms such as Deloitte, PWC, Cap Gemini, Accenture, and/or HP Services (EDS)
- You have strong analytical skills and are good at assessing financial and operational impacts quickly.
Education Requirements:- Minimum Level of Education: BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience from top University
- Master's Degree a plus but not required
