Job Responsibilities
Research & Development of multiplexing and related stream encapsulation technologies for digital broadcast of media. This individual will assist in the implementation of multiplexing and streaming technology for demonstration and implementation with strategic partners. This key person will direct implementation of DTS audio codec technology into multiple container formats and streaming infrastructures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
? Provide leadership and technical insight into multiplexing of DTS-HD, M6/M8 and evolving DTS codecs into multiple container formats
? Assist with the development and deployment of libraries supporting common multiplexed container formats containing DTS codecs
? Develop and optimize implementations of libraries supporting common streaming protocols such as MPEG-DASH and others.
? Provide and act in an overall delivery role for the DTS position in the streaming ecosystem by identifying gaps, opportunities, partnerships, technical strategies and products.
? Will provide management leadership of a small team, coordinate related activities within DTS and provide technical support for coordinated activities such as standards or partnerships
Required Education and Experience
? Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required. PhD is a plus.
? 5 Years experience with multiplexing and content streaming over IP networks. Knowledge of ISO BMF format, MP4, MPEG2 transport streams is a must. Experience of other container formats such as MKV or CFF is a bonus. Experience with MPEG-DASH and CSF is highly beneficial
? 5 Years experience leading a team or function
? Practical applications of streaming technology for content delivery or IPTV including Ultraviolet, Common Streaming format.
? Knowledge of audio codecs and DSP implementation experience would be a bonus
? Background in broadcast, IPTV, digital content delivery, streaming, mobile applications, PC software or consumer products is a plus
? Must possess excellent computer/programming skills.
? In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a must
? Be familiar with implementation of streaming protocols and software
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Strong teamwork and project-related skills.
? Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work with little supervision
