Summary of Functions:
Due to growth we are seeking a Distribution Center Supervisor on the weekend 3rd shift. Work schedule is Thursday/Friday 3pm-11:30pm and Saturday/Sunday 7pm-7:30am.
Summary of Functions:
Responsible for supervising processing relating to Material Handling, including shipping and receiving functions, material storage, non-conforming items, and distribution to client. Ensure cost effective, efficient and safe receipt and transportation of goods.
Essential Functions:
Ensure that materials shipped and received are verified against pertinent documentation
Establish and maintain procedures for determining and meeting company and Customer receipt and delivery commitments by handling materials, providing labor, and effective use of time
Recommend and assist in implementing operating procedures, promote continual improvement within the operation
Follow receiving/shipping methods for materials using the operations procedures
Resolve emergent issues for expedited deliveries to the client site
Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems with receipts and with shipments as needed
Accountable for staffing, training, motivation and leadership within area of responsibility; develop team effort; build work group standards for performance; build morale by confronting negative attitudes
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Candidates having a background with distribution of goods, in a quality controlled environment; airline, aerospace or aviation industry is a plus in the position.
Bachelor?s degree, preferably in Logistics Management, or equivalent experience
Two years prior supervisory experience in a distribution environment, including inventory management and planning experience, knowledge of the value chain, and warehouse information systems
Demonstrated planning, organizational, and analytical skills; able to partner and communicate with all levels of an organization from hourly associates to senior management
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, warehouse management systems, database systems
Proven ability to multitask, set and manage priorities based on customer requirements
Experience in AS9100 or ISO environment preferred
