Distributor Sales Manager Putney
Putney is seeking a Distributor Sales Manager to oversee the day-to-day sales, marketing and training activities for assigned accounts in order to elevate Putney?s products and message to distributor businesses and accounts. The DSM will develop relationships with influencers and decision makers at all levels of the distributor organizations. In addition, The DSM will coordinate appropriate Putney team members in sales, marketing, finance, veterinary technical support, customer service, operations and senior management to maximize relationships that build loyalty and embed Putney in the distributors? business.
The Distributor Sales Manager will develop, maintain, and update a regional sales plan. The DSM will ensure accurate data is recorded so that account relationships can be developed and business grown. The DSM will strategize effective tactics to effectively respond to the ever-changing and competitive market. The DSM will work with internal departments to provide input into marketing and portfolio regarding new product planning.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of sales/marketing experience in the animal health field. He/she will have experience selling to veterinarians and distribution along with a complete understanding of channel management. He/she must be able to identify and capitalize on market trends, work within a team environment, and have the ability to negotiate contracts. He/she will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to build rapport and gain respect with all assigned accounts. Excellent selling and sales leadership skills are critical for success.
The position is full time, ideally based in Portland Maine, with heavy travel required.
