Position Overview
Consultants are responsible for: delivering highest quality work products and deliverables; fostering and maintaining strong client relationships; promoting the firms reputation in the marketplace; providing thought leadership in their area of specialty; identifying and designing innovative and practical human resource-related solutions to meet our clients business needs; ensuring superior execution through effective management of work, budgets and people; providing ongoing mentoring and development for our staff; and collaborating with firm leaders on the building and improving of our operations.
The Consultant role has four levels at Capital H Group with the following titles: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Principal. Project roles are not dictated by level but rather guided by a number of variablesincluding level, consultant strengths and development needs, firm staffing realities and client needs. As a result, the job description below applies to all but the principal level (which is covered separately) and reflects the core functions and skills required to succeed at all levels.

Section 1. Primary Responsibilities
Consulting Leadership
Structures and solves business problems; creates value for clients
Executes analyses

Project Management
Organizes people and executes work leading to a successful outcome

Supports CRMs and Principals through participating in initial (prospecting) meetings and closing sales8 Adds to the firms network of professional contacts
Drafts proposals
Practice Planning & Development
Adds to the firms capabilities and reputation; builds firm infrastructure

Adds to the firms intellectual capital through creating new tools, frameworks and models or adding new areas of expertise

Advances the firms reputation in the market through speaking engagements, white papers, articles, marketing materials, etc.

Contributes to the growth, development and positive experience of firm employees

Has or is developing technical skills consistent with the firms offering
Provides subject matter expertise for project team members based on specialized industry and/or content knowledge
Section 2. Qualifications & Project Roles
Level 1: Consultants at the first level focus on building project management skills while gaining content knowledge of the diversity and inclusion space as part of the larger human resources arena.
0-4 years of related experience in industry or professional services; understanding of human capital issues through the lens of D&I and soft skills training (coordination, design or delivery) experience a plus
Bachelors degree required
Experience and or related competencies for analyzing qualitative data (from focus groups and interviews) and qualitative data (from employee engagement/D&I surveys, individual and organizational assessments).
Experience working as part of a team and independently
Willingness to adapt to changing work and some travel
Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; statistical and database applications a plus Project Roles Individual contributor, project manager or leader of a work stream and project manager of a small project
Level 2: Consultants at the second level focus on deepening areas of expertise in the diversity and inclusion space and understanding of business while continuously improving the scope of project management skills.
48 years of related experience in industry, training or consulting; expertise in coordinating, designing and/or delivering platform and/or online soft skills training required. Some general understanding of HR consulting areas a plus (e.g., compensation, talent management, HR processes)
General understanding of how current D&I infrastructure approaches and strategies (ERGs, Diversity Councils, etc.) impact business results
Broad understanding of how individual differences in race, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability and religion impact the workplace culture and business outcomes.
Strong basic process facilitation skills
Experience leading focus groups
Bachelors degree required
Experience managing work and diverse teams
Experience contributing to business development, e.g., proposal development
Willingness to adapt to changing work and travel
Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; statistical and database applications a plus
Track record in developing and maintaining strong business relationships Project Roles
Project manager for small and medium projects, project manager or leader of a work stream on larger or more complex projects, individual contributor on larger or more complex projects and possible subject matter expert
Level 3: Consultants at the third level are focused on leading projects while increasingly working with CRMs to develop business
8 years of related industry and/or D&I training and consulting experience; content expertise in one or more of the following areas: subject matter expertise in at least one primary dimension of difference, D&I strategies, D&I awareness and/or skills training (instructional design and/or delivery), D&I infrastructure implementation and support or cultural assessments. Broad HR background a plus.
Bachelors degree required; masters degree in a related field a plus
Proven experience consulting, facilitating and/or soft skills training with groups/companies on diversity and inclusion related business issues
Proven management skills in leading large, complex projects
Ability to manage, motivate and mentor more junior staff
Experience leading or contributing to business development and closing sales
Track record of developing and sustaining strong business relationships both internally and externally
Willingness to adapt to changing work and travel
Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
