Dotster is a global online service provider to > 3 million small businesses. Due to a series of recent acquisitions the head office finance team is looking to add a Divisional Controller to assume responsibility for producing the financial reports for a number of US and international based operating units.
Overview of prime responsibilities
Prepare monthly GAAP based financial statements
Conversion of foreign entity accounts to USD GAAP based accounts for group consolidation
Prepare or review supporting account reconciliations & analyses
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports for internal and external use
Play an active and key support role in the external audit process
Assist in the analysis and implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements
Perform technical research on GAAP and international accounting and reporting issues
Assist in the performance of the internal controls risk assessment and design and implementation of controls
Other Responsibilites
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; MBA desirable; CPA Preferred
7+ Years of Big 4/National public accounting experience combined with industry experience, preferably in a data driven internet, technology or services company
Strong technical accounting background with a thorough understanding of subscription based business models and deferred revenue accounting
Experienced using Great Plains or similar enterprise-wide accounting software
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
