DOCSIS Lead Engineer Ruckus Wireless
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Ruckus Wireless is seeking a DOCSIS Lead Engineer. In this cross-functional role, you will be the single point person to manage all aspects of integration and support of DOCSIS modems into the Ruckus Access Point family. This role requires a variety of skills, ranging from management of vendors to hands-on CMTS configuration to working directly with customers on qualification and support.
Subject matter expert on DOCSIS and CATV specifications and industry.
Manage the integration of new features and bug fixes into the cable modem, including working with Taiwanese vendors and verifying implementation.
Stay abreast of latest developments in the CATV industry.
Setup and maintain in-house Data over Cable lab, including CMTS configuration.
Verify modem features and quality. Work with vendor to correct any open bugs.
Manage technical aspects of qualification of products with service provider customers.
Initial point of contact for customer support, travelling onsite when needed.
Work with CableLabs to obtain DOCSIS certification.
Significant domestic and international travel is required.
Skills and Requirements:
Extensive experience in Data over Cable market.
In depth knowledge of the DOCSIS specifications. Knowledge of PacketCable is a plus.
Hands on experience setting up and debugging real-world DOCSIS networks.
Strong understanding of basic networking, routing and Windows networking
Solid understanding of commercial chipsets and hardware and software partitioning
Possess good high-level knowledge of key software feature implementations
Engineering background with experience in product development.
Experience certifying products with large service providers. Demonstrated ability to manage certifications in a predictable timeframe.
Effective organization, project management and coordination skills
Excellent people skills. Customer-facing experience.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
