Job Description & Responsibilities:
WideOrbit is the leader in business management software for Media companies, providing innovative, proven solutions for managing broadcast and cable operations. Our software powers more than 4,000 stations and networks around the globe. WideOrbit is a financially stable organization with more than 100 million in contract backlog and is backed by leading Venture Capital firms.
This is not just your average everyday technical writer job we are consistently upgrading our product and need someone that is smart and innovative to help us predict challenges our end users will experience. This position will give you the opportunity to see the software through the eyes of our clients and then make what theyre seeing easier to understand. Every team member is a critical part of the design and implementation process and we need you to create industry leading documentation.
Youll be creating documentation, training materials, and help guides that will ultimately impact our clients satisfaction with our product. Youll also be responsible for creating online help for a Web based product.
Other responsibilities include:
- Having complete ownership of writing and production of release notes and building reports.
- Being the liaison to the training department to collaborate on training material.
- Producing demonstration videos.
Skills/Qualifications
- Ability to translate technical knowledge into easy to read concise materials for clients and internal staff.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience in technical or document writing at a technology company or within a training department with a focus on technology.
- Experience working on a CRM system or with software within a sales or advertising organization is a plus.
- Any exposure to broadcasting rating data would be very helpful.
- Formal education in technical writing, technical communication, or related field,
- Working knowledge of style guides and documentation plans.
Compensation
The compensation range will depend on experience and will include medical benefits and stock options.
