Merrimack Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company discovering, developing and preparing to commercialize innovative medicines paired with companion diagnostics for the treatment of serious diseases, with an initial focus on cancer. Merrimack applies Network Biology, its proprietary systems biology-based approach to biomedical research, throughout the research and development process. Merrimack currently has six targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development.
We are seeking a talented Downstream Process Development professional to join our team in Cambridge!
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, your primary responsibility will be the development of processes for the downstream purification of proteins, primary antibodies and bi-specifics. You will be working on protein separation methods and chromatography, as well as various methods of protein characterization including Western blot, SDS PAGE. analytical HPLC, etc.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. with 2-3 years of industry experience or a BS/MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline with 5-7 years of industry experience, The ability to write technology transfer and SOP documents is required. Experience in scaling up and moving a product from process development to manufacturing is critical. GMP training and experience with biologics is preferred, as is experience in a GLP environment. Especially desired are enthusiastic, flexible people who like the challenge of working with a variety of teams in a multi-tasking environment. Equally important are strong interpersonal skills, entrepreneurial spirit and solid experience with common computer programs.
