ModSpace seeks a CDL A Driver for our busy Oakdale, PA location.
This is a M-F, FT role with benefits.
Truck, equipment, tools, safety equipment, and uniforms are provided by ModSpace.
Drivers average two turns per day with an average one way of less than 100 miles.
Some OT is available.
ModSpace Drivers are a front line with our customers and key to customer service satisfaction:
Delivering, level setting and skirting new buildings and storage containers to customer sites with safe and courteous service
Removing buildings and associated materials safely and reliably, on time
Day to day responsibilities may include:
Driving a ModSpace toter truck with modular buildings or storage containers to and from assigned sites
Includes wide loads and escorted runs
Loading and unloading supplies such as blocks, steps, and furniture
Some minor maintenance associated with transport
Communicating regularly (cell phone/radio) with Dispatch to receive delivery or pickup instructions
Customer communications on site
Positioning, blocking, leveling, and anchoring of buildings at delivery sites
Completing truck and unit inspection and DOT reports or logs in accordance with DOT regulation and ModSpace procedures
Completing inspection, delivery, and repair paperwork as required
ModSpace Drivers must have:
a High School Diploma or GED
One year of CDL A driving experience and holds a current valid CDL A license
The ability to pass a DOT physical or obtain a valid exemption set by DOT regulations
Is familiar with FMCSR
Age requirements set by local, state, and federal agencies or government
The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
A focus on customer service

Basic reading and writing skills and the ability to enter work data into ModSpace systems with training
The ability to work effectively in a team environment or as an individual contributor with minimal

The Driver hauls, sets up, and tears down modular buildings. The hauls are generally more local in nature allowing the Driver to be home most nights and weekends. Truck, equipment, tools, PPE, and uniforms are provided by ModSpace.
Drives truck (toter) pulling modular buildings, including wide loads, and storage containers to and from customer and ModSpace sites
Sets up and tears down modular buildings at customer sites (i.e. positioning, blocking, leveling, and anchoring of buildings)
Completes daily truck and modular unit inspection and reports in accordance with DOT regulation and ModSpace procedures
Completes daily DOT Hours of Service Logs
Loads and unloads supplies such as blocks, steps, and furniture
Performs needed repairs (i.e. change tires, basic carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing)
Maintains contact (cell phone/radio) with Dispatcher or Operations Management to receive delivery or pickup instructions
Enters job scope and time into computer and completes inspection, delivery, and repair paperwork
Communicates with customers
Performs other duties as assigned
A successful candidate:
Has a minimum of one year of truck driving experience with CDL A
Has basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, electrical systems, and plumbing
Holds a valid CDL A License
Is able to pass DOT physical or valid exemption set by DOT regulations
Is familiar with FMCSR
Meets age requirement as set by local, state, and federal
Is focused on customer service
Has basic reading and writing skills
Has basic computer skills and can learn new systems
Prioritizes tasks and manages time to meet deadlines
Is able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Performs job responsibilities without supervision
Shows up for work as scheduled and on time
Works with others in a professional manner
Works in accordance with established safety procedures
Works overtime as needed
Has a High School Diploma or GED - preferred
Has modular building set up and tear down experience - preferred
