Whether you see yourself as a Drupal site builder, developer or themer, if you're someone who has a passion for creating Drupal based sites we'd like to talk to you. Bring your Drupal skills to a great team of web developers working on websites and web based applications at the US Naval Research Lab (NRL). We're transitioning much of what we do to Drupal so we want to grow our team and Drupal expertise.There are lots of opportunities to learn and grow professionally including annual training of your choosing. We've had people train with Lullabot and Aquia. We've even sent web developers to iOS training because they were interested in learning about it.
The team at NRL uses the LAMP stack in addition to Drupal and generally embraces open source. The best candidates will have experience working in a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. Show us some examples of your work and tell us what you'd most like to be doing.
While this position is full time at NRL, it is not a government position. You'll be a government contractor employed by Zurka Interactive. Zurka provides a full benefits package, has a training budget for it's employees and even sponsors a week-long in-house hack-a-thon once a year where the team puts together a crazy project with cutting edge technology. The hack-a-thon ends with a demo party for friends and family of everyone involved.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelors degree is expected. Solid web development experience could serve as a substitute.
Drupal knowledge, obviously.
US Citizenship is a requirement. You'll also need to be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

About the US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL)
NRL operates as the Navy's full-spectrum corporate laboratory, conducting a broadly based multidisciplinary program of scientific research and advanced technological development directed toward maritime applications of new and improved materials, techniques, equipment, systems and ocean, atmospheric, and space sciences and related technologies. This position is full time, on-site at NRL DC.

Zurka develops web based applications and IT solutions for commercial and government clients. It supports research and development at the US Naval Research Laboratory with on-site staff. In other words, Zurka is the vehicle for your salary and benefits while you work at NRL.
