Job Description: Tensilica is a leading provider of configurable embedded processor technology and DSPs for various markets. As a member of the DSP engineering group you will be responsible for design and implementation of the next generation of leading configurable embedded DSP processors.
Design, development and detailed optimisation of DSP instructions and specialized DSP hardware using Tensilica processor description languages (TIE) and tools and flows; this includes the use of standard EDA tools and flows to ensure that the DSPs meet timing, area and power goals
Work closely with Tensilica?s architectural team in areas such as audio, baseband and imaging to create optimised DSP hardware for various market segments
Work closely with Tensilica?s CAD and physical design experts to ensure good results for DSP power, performance and area.
Experience with RTL hardware logic design and Verilog, as well as popular EDA synthesis and simulation tools and methods
Experience with computer/DSP arithmetic optimisation
Strong leadership, initiative, organisation and written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with scripting languages like Perl, Unix and similar computing environments
Detailed knowledge of embedded processor architecture, embedded DSP instruction sets, algorithms, programming and software optimisation is highly desirable
Fixed point instruction set experience and knowledge is highly desirable
Domain knowledge of at least one DSP domain (audio, baseband, imaging/video) is highly desirable
Detailed knowledge of synthesis and placement and routing (physical implementation) tradeoffs and optimisation flows is highly desirable.
Good knowledge of C/C++ is highly desirable
Masters degree in EE/CS and some years experience, or relevant PhD in EE/CS (PhD preferred
