Summary
The Eastern Regional CLIA Sales Director will be responsible for managing sales (external and internal), managing the third party collaboration forecasting accurately and devising an aggressive growth strategy in their assigned region. This person will be accountable for achievement of overall clinical laboratory sales, profit and market share objectives. This person will also be responsible for translating in-depth understanding of customer, competitive and market trends and evolving industry dynamics into short and long term sales strategies and tactical plans. This position is based in the assigned region and will require at least 50% travel.
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop the regional sales strategy, business model and annual Revenue Plan including objectives, sales strategies, and tactics.
Analyze, appraise regularly, and systematically evaluate the effectiveness of the plan to ensure results are achieved. Drive corrective action where necessary.
Develop and continually maintain in-depth understanding of the cardiology disease diagnostics market, competitors and customers.
Work with marketing to develop an integrated market approach. Provide ?voice of customer? information to organization including identifying present and future business needs, trends and opportunities.
Collaborate with the Company?s functional departments to ensure strategy, resource allocation and implementation plans are aligned to drive short and long term achievement of sales objectives.
Develop and effectively implement work processes, people systems and culture that ensure achievement of both short and long term business objectives.
Mentor the regional sales team (internal and external) to effectively develop, close, and manage accounts.
Ensure the execution of the Company?s Regional Clinical Laboratory Revenue Plan in order to achieve sales, market share growth, profit, and cash flow targets. Ensure compliance with and implementation of approved corporate directives and required operational activities.
Develop and maintain sales forecasting process and sales budget.
Supervise the delivery of sales support materials. Support marketing in the development of sales materials, pricing and promotional programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in life sciences preferred. Graduate degree (MD, PhD, MBA) also beneficial.
Minimum of seven (7) years successful sales experience preferably in selling laboratory services, diagnostic testing systems, and/or pharmaceutical products directly to physicians.
Cardiology experience considered a very strong plus.
Minimum of three (3) years in sales management with proven success record in recruiting and developing high caliber team, ideally having built the sales organization from an early stage.
Both large and entrepreneurial company sales leadership experience strongly preferred, with an understanding of how to scale a growing sales organization appropriately over time.
Proven ability to formulate strategic plans and to implement strategies that are financially sound to position the company for long term success.
Experience in implementing and using Customer Relationship Management software (Salesforce.com or other) preferred.
Ability/ willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, sometimes with minimal advance notice.
Outstanding strategic planning and execution skills are essential. Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills are also a must.
