Healthline is searching for an experienced Editorial Director to join its team. The Content Solutions team at Healthline.com is responsible for the editorial strategy for Healthline.com as well as producing content for an assemblage of some of the most exciting and dynamic players in the health information space including Yahoo and GE. The Editorial Director will lead the editorial strategy and day-to-day editorial operations across its Health programming websites. Successful candidates will have significant interactive experience and expertise in health, medical and wellness programming.

The Editorial Director will oversee the planning, development, quality standards, and creation of content for websites and online applications. The position will manage an internal team of online editorial professionals and work collaboratively with production, product development, design, business development, advertising sales, marketing, public relations and strategy/operations teams.

This position reports to the VP Content Solutions.
Responsibilities

Develop and implement the editorial vision and voice, strategic content plans and editorial calendars for Healthline.com and select partners
Mentor the editorial staff and work tirelessly to grow their skills
Act as the constant and consistent internal and external evangelist for high-quality and credible health content
Assist the VP Content Solutions with growing the business by identifying and pitching to new clients
Manage relationships with content licensors
Assist in recruiting site experts and medical specialists
Partner with marketing and product staff on audience development and retention
Partner with Manager, SEO and Social to leverage editorial through numerous distribution channels

Responsibilities

5 to 10 years experience in digital editorial creation and management; experience in health and medical content strongly preferred
Ability to quickly master internal processes of production
A degree of mentoring editors and writers at various levels of skill
Results oriented, self-directed and self-motivated
Natural innovator who keeps a sharp on eye competitors, audience trends and technological developments
Exceptional communication and leadership skills
Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented
Strong project management experience
Strong relationship skills, including experience working collaboratively with internal sales and technical teams
BA/BS in English or a related field
Exposure to SEO, mobile and social
