Delivery of vehicle subsystem electrical harnesses, including establishing requirements, system integration, design of the harness schematic, connector selection and conductor analysis; Sizing, documentation of the design, and managing prototype and production suppliers to build harnesses; Delivering products to meet program requirements (including timing and budget requirements); Exercising fluency with technical fundamentals behind harness electrical design, components, mechanical routing, fixing, and protective strategies; Utilizing expertise with device driver topologies and implementation, variable voltage and current drive systems, driving inductive loads; Exercising fluency with signals and noise, shielding requirements, EMC/EMI/ESD protection and conformance, grounding practices; Building prototypes, developing and debugging bench-top systems, testing systems in engineering vehicles, supporting production and service to solve problem; Developing and maintaining bills-of-materials and production documentation; and Reading and developing vehicle-level wiring diagrams and schematics and specifications and pin-out diagrams from component suppliers.
Job Requirements: Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent and 1 year of experience in the job offered or closely related to design engineering.
Special Requirements: Requires experience in: 1. Electrical firmware and hardware development; 2. Design and debug of power controls; and, 3. Harness electrical design.
