Electrical Engineer, Level II Acumentrics

Essential Functions:

Development of the subsystem technical requirements, technical documentation, schematics, component specification and selection.

Test, debug, design and develop analog, digital and power electronic circuits, DC/DC converters and inverters for new and sustaining products.

Develop test methods, test procedures, programs and equipment to test new products for thermal characterization, efficiencies, and various power factors and cress factors.

Perform power rating for UPS and equipment, evaluate components and modify designs to meet product performance specs.

Develop test methods for collecting test data, perform data analysis and take action to improve product designs margins, quality and system efficiencies.

Assist Manufacturing, Test, Purchasing, and Sales with technical issues.

Evaluate and qualify parts and products for UPS and fuel cell usage.

Interface with vendors to resolve vendor related technical issues.

Provide direction to Technicians.

Produce accurate documentation.


Minimum Qualifications:

BS EE, (MSEE preferred) or equivalent, with 4-6 years related experience.

Strong hardware Hands-On test engineering discipline and electronic product testing.

Strong analog, digital and power electronics, DC/DC and inverter topologies and power circuit skills.

Strong hardware and software topology knowledge of power electronics for 200 Watts to 15 KW systems.

Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

Test equipment proficiency including oscilloscopes, power analyzers and emulators.

Good mechanical skills and aptitude.

PCB layout skills, preferably PowerPCB.

Familiarity with embedded systems.

Familiarity with software (e.g. Visual basic, C).

Proficiency with engineering software tools (e.g. Mathcad, Matlab, SPICE and/or variants thereof).

Be detail oriented and produce accurate and concise documentation.

Ability to work independently or in a multifunctional team environment.

Mental agility able to respond to critical situations in a rapid and accurate manner.

Effective communication (verbal and written).

Proficient in MS Office.
