The ideal candidate for the position of Electrical Engineer will have demonstrated broad hardware engineering skills ranging from complex circuit design to embedded firmware development. As part of the SolFocus engineering team, your technical contributions will have significant and visible effect on our green products. You?ll play a key role in determining the direction of electrical systems for use in SolFocus? product portfolio including trackers, monitoring and data aggregation systems, and tools for engineering, manufacturing, and field. Responsibilities include project planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, enhancement, and testing of existing and next generation systems. You?ll work within a small team on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors and ability to formulate sound solutions.
SolFocus, a start-up in the Silicon Valley, is a leading supplier of Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) systems for the commercial industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Controls and power system development, design, component selection, testing and documentation.
In-lab and in-field testing of components, modules, baords and systems.
Internal reliability/qualification test design and implementation (hardware & software setup).
Engineering support for Field Operations and installations.
SKILLS
Strong lab skills with hands-on experience operating oscilloscopes, fusion generators, and logic analyzers.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and professionally with peers, customers and vendors.
Must be a self-motivated team player who is able to propsoe and defend solutions to issues.
Experience with Cadence HW tools, Visio and Agile required
QUALIFICATIONS
BSEE with 3 years related experience or MSEE with 1 or more years of related experience.
Demonstrated board level timing and signal intergrity analysis skill.
Power electronics, board, and circuit bring up experience.
Experience analyzing, selecting and advising on electronic components and equipment.
Experience generating schematics, assembly drawings, procedures,timing diagrams, operational descriptions, design requirements, verification test plans and test reports.
Designed and perfromed design verification tests.
Software and firmware background is desireable.
