CradlePoint has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer with experience in worldwide regulatory certification requirements for computer and IT products. These certifications include EMC, safety, environmental and telecom. The ideal candidate will have broad experience and proven success working with R&D, CM and certified test labs to receive regulatory approvals for products during the development cycle. The candidate will be working with design and manufacturing partners in Asia. Some international travel may be required.
Requirements:
Familiarity with modern network equipment and regulatory concerns
Overall understanding of internal components at a block diagram level
Deep understanding of relationship between product features and WW regulations
Excellent familiarity with
Regulatory bodies like FCC, TCBs, etc.
Modular certifications to streamline future related submissions
Permissive changes and amendments
Telecom related certifications (especially for cellular carriers)
Environmental and ?green? initiatives such as Energy Star, WEEE and ROHS
Product safety including battery and charging implications
Qualifications:
Ability to support and engage in any design model including ODM and CM
Fluent knowledge of regulatory certification process
Experience with lab quotation and selection process
Familiar with implications of wireless technology such as Wi-Fi and cellular standards
Genuine flexibility to energetically pursue any assignment
Excellent communication, organizational, multi-tasking and teamwork skills
Education:
BSEE or equivalent degree required
