MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The company seeks an experienced, hands-on electrochemist or electrochemical engineer to lead the development and evaluation of ionic liquid electrolytes for use in EDLCs. Responsibilities include characterizing ionic liquid materials, building prototype devices such as coin cells and pouch cells, analyzing the interaction between electrodes and electrolyte, evaluating/understanding/improving cell performance, benchmarking eSionic electrolytes relative to alternatives, providing technical direction, acting as a technical liaison with customers, and interacting with external manufacturers.
REQUIREMENTS:
This highly specialized position requires 2-5 years of hands-on experience with EDLC product development. Ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or a related field with focus on electrochemistry. The candidate must have extensive knowledge and direct experience with EDLC technologies including cell design, electrode fabrication, cell assembly, testing and evaluation of prototype devices. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required. Abilities to design and conduct complex experiments, employ a variety of characterization techniques, use DOE approach, apply various theories to interpret experimental results and correlate the results with product performance are required. The candidate must have an ability to transfer technology from R&D into manufacturing. Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work as a team player in a multi-functional environment are required.
