The Electronics Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is a key member of an aggressive product development team focused on developing and commercializing our fuel cell systems. As part of a multidisciplinary team, this engineer is responsible for designing and testing fuel cell system electronics.
Works from broadly defined systems specifications to determine appropriate top-down controls architecture.
Develops electronic/electrical designs for the Fuel Cell Power System(s).
Participates in the development of basic design parameters and architecture, and carries design from the conceptual stage through to prototyping.
Formulates solutions to assigned hardware and/or system design problems.
Generates schematics for the developed designs.
Prepares PCB layout for developed designs.
Selects appropriate components for the target design, ranging from associated hardware (connectors) to CPU systems.
Documents designs with written theory of operation descriptions and interface design specifications as required.
System design, analysis, and specification including FPGA design and simulation
Develops detailed analog & digital designs.
Provides verification and documentation for production.
Other duties as required.
BS/MS degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience.
Embedded microcontroller design experience.
Ability to carry a product design from conception into production.
System design and analysis of Control systems.
FPGA/CPLD design/simulation experience and/or capability desirable.
Hands-on hardware design experience with analog and digital design solutions.
Experience with engineering test equipment - logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, communication bus analyzers, etc.
Familiarity with modern design process and tools (Altium, Protel, Orcad, Xilinx, etc.).
Proven project planning and execution delivery.
Excellent communication skills.
