Kiva Systems, Inc. is a rapidly growing Boston based robotics company that is revolutionizing supply chain operations. Our customers are large retailers, catalog operators, e-commerce and other companies that ship direct to consumers, businesses and retail stores.
Kiva is seeking a talented and motivated electronics repair technician to debug, troubleshoot, and repair circuit boards and electronics sub-assemblies. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience working with and debugging electronic assemblies using a variety of tools, fixtures, and instruments. He/she should have multiple years working with complex electro-mechanical systems with a focus on electronics. The candidate will possess good communication skills and enjoy problem solving both independently and in team settings. Further, this candidate would be familiar with the startup environment and the associated hours, deadlines and high-energy culture that go with launching innovative new products. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
The Electronics Technician will be responsible for:
Running tests and determining root cause failures
Reading and understanding schematics to debug and repair minor failures
Using software and fixtures to test electronics under a windows environment
Using software to program embedded devices (microprocessor, FPGA)
Repairing electronics with excellent soldering skills, including removing and replacing surface mount components
Trouble shooting to the component level - Conducting debug/repair on wire harnesses using a variety of crimp tools - Using a variety of test instruments, including oscilloscopes and multi-meters
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
Minimum 2 years electronics degree (or equivalent work experience)
5+ years of experience working with, debugging, and repairing electronic assemblies using a variety of tools, fixtures, and instruments
Thorough understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts in electronics
Commitment to rigorous testing practices
Excellent written and oral communication skills
