Freescale?s Radio Frequency (RF) Group is the number one supplier of RF power transistors for cellular infrastructure, supporting all major bands and transmission standards. Our RF power transistor technology is also used in products for the broadcast, avionics, ISM, and military markets. Freescale also provides millimeter wave ICs (MMICs) for cellular infrastructure applications. As a pioneer in RF technology, Freescale was the first to develop RF power transistors in LDMOS technology; the first to implement industry standards in air-cavity ceramic and over-molded plastic packing for RF power devices; -and the first to deliver a 2 GHz discrete RF power transistor in over-molded plastic package capable of a 200 degree Celsius junction temperature.
Freescale RF is seeking entry level, new college graduate candidates with strong coursework and technical skills to contribute as Technicians in our Engineering departments. Specific position requirements will vary depending on the projects and individuals involved. Examples of projects are as follows:
Working as a part of the RF systems engineering teams to develop RF power amplifier designs.
This person will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical design of PCBs including schematics, layouts, CAD files, and design reviews, while meeting schedule and quality objectives.
Working as a part of the modeling engineering team to develop non-linear models for the RF power amplifier transistors.
This person will be responsible for the setup, calibration, and maintenance of advanced on-wafer measurement systems as well as characterizing transistors, while meeting schedule and quality objectives.
Responsibilities for these roles may include:
Executing the PCB design cycle. Generate schematics, circuit layouts, Bill of Materials (BOMs), perform manufacturing design reviews, and support PCB fabrication and assembly, and follow-up on design outcomes.
Driving the PCB process and design best practices throughout the engineering team.
Showing flexibility by performing various engineering tasks and projects to support the team including new development, sustaining, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Setup and calibration of pulsed S-parameter station using vector network analyzers in conjunction with high speed switching supplies and thermally controlled on-wafer station.
Driving measurement and design best practices throughout the engineering team.
Driving advancements of measurement methods and practices.
Showing flexibility by performing various engineering tasks and projects to support the team including, new development, sustaining, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Minimum 3.25 GPA.
Two year or Associates-equivalent degree in electronics or related field.
Prior technical work experience in any of the follow is highly desirable: RF circuits, PCB layout/assembly/test, semiconductor manufacturing/test, etc.
US citizen or permanent resident.
Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
Ability to work in a team environment with technical and engineering professionals.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities and deadlines will frequently change.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Takes responsibility for decisions, actions and results.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite.
Hands on experience (through work or school) with basic electronic laboratory equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc).
Prior work experience in a technical field or military technical experience is a plus.
Capable of self managing and proactively driving project objectives to completion.
Experience working with a global team is a plus.
