POSITION OVERVIEW
The Email Analyst reports to the Sr. Account Manager (team Lead) ? LM and is responsible for the email revenue growth of the assigned publishers by optimizing email distribution to consumers while sustaining inbox delivery of the email marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have experience as a hands-on mailer with the technical ?know how? to implement daily mailing practices. The primary duties will include:
Account Management: Managing the launch and on-going growth & relationship of assigned accounts. Documenting processes & procedures and running periodic account reviews. Establishing best practices to drive improvements for whitelisting and certification through email reputation services.
Email Campaign Setup: Involves scheduling, optimizing campaign assets using best practices, mailing campaigns, performing QA, and ensuring CAN-SPAM compliance. Identifying the optimal email distribution and contact strategy for various segments by analyzing consumer behavior engagement among various email senders. Determining and implementing best email segmentation practices. Providing guidance to creative team in changing email creative as it relates to email deliverability.
Reporting/Analysis: Gathering and compiling performance metrics. Analyzing reports to generate and implement strategies to improve list and campaign performance. Reviewing performance to proactively address issues that may impact email delivery. Tracking revenue and costs to ensure profitability.
Technical Strategy: Diagnosing deliverability issues and improving inbox deliverability in a manner that is sustainable, scalable and fits the overall company goals. Managing and improving the email reputation score of assigned accounts. Working with the engineering team to stay in compliance with major ISP requirements for bounce handling to sustain superior delivery of emails
Additional duties include:
Managing special projects as needed by the manager
Attend selected conferences and industry events of the email sender community
CANDIDATE OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be an inspiring and confident leader effective at setting priorities based on the needs of the business with at least:
2 years of email marketing experience is required, preferably with an email list management company or an ESP
4+ years of client services experience in an environment that requires multi-tasking
Deep understanding of how technical and non-technical factors influence email deliverability including managing email data and opt-in permission.
Strong project-management skills and ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment is required.
Basic knowledge of database structure, DNS, SMTP, MUA and MTAs is required.
Experience working with LAMP servers, mail filtering, mail headers and MIME encoding
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel in particular
Experience of using email execution systems is a plus
Basic knowledge of HTML, graphics editing, and FTP a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor?s degree in communication, marketing, business, or other related fields
