The Email Marketing Manager is one of the more customer-centric roles in the company and is responsible for the management of outbound e-mail communications for both Art.com and AllPosters.com. You will be accountable for revenue goals and will have responsibility for establishing the e-mail strategy, including overseeing development of content and creative, executing e-mail campaigns and tests, and analyzing and reporting. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop domestic and international email marketing strategies, audience segmentation, and email test plan designs
Provide marketing direction, historical context (analysis and results), copy, product selections, and creative suggestions via email creative briefs to the Creative Services Team. Work with merchandising, e-commerce, and other marketing channels to develop a cohesive seasonal email marketing plan.
Maintain an aggressive email mailing calendar to achieve revenue goals for Art.com and AllPosters.com brands.
Oversee the set-up, testing, and deployment of all e-mail campaigns, (performed by Email Marketing Associates.) Perform final test and QA check on all emails for compatibility with web browsers and email clients; ensuring all links, images, subject lines and list segments are correct.
Continually monitor, test and track email key performance indicators by segment, campaign and season, versus Plan and versus prior years. Summarize results and share with the management team weekly.
Test and develop ways to engage our customers and improve their repeat purchase rates with various emails, letters, offers, etc. Analyze customer segments and make recommendation for varying messaging/contact patterns for new versus aging customers to improve efficiency of mailings
Recommend innovative testing and campaign adjustment to elevate email marketing results.
Drive onsite email address acquisition initiatives. Develop unique strategies to capture new customers and convert web leads to buyers; cross-sell additional products and services to previous buyers; and develop valuable ongoing customer communications.
Analyze trends of composition of email file, and make recommendations for improving forecasting methodology going forward.
Ensure utilization of current best practices and compliance around permission-based marketing, privacy, spam regulation (CAN/SPAM) and deliverability.
REQUIREMENTS:
5-7 years experience in email marketing for B2C business; experience managing a team
Experience with an industry leading Email Service Provider
Strong quantitative, analytical, and project management skills
Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative environment and manage programs with cross-functional teams comprised of business, technology and creative professionals.
Deep knowledge of and experience in all aspects of email marketing including functionality, delivery, analysis, legislation and general industry trends, best practices and metrics
Strong attention to detail and hands-on style balanced by ability to see big picture.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional work ethic, ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize and deliver multiple tasks on time
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and working knowledge of HTML
