We?re looking for a Senior Designer to define and drive the visual experience for applications built on our Amalga enterprise platform.
Essential Responsibilities:
? Work hand-in-hand with UX Designers and Writers to create comps based on wire frames from Information Architects
? Design concepts for new and existing features based on fuzzy and undefined design guidelines
? Collaborate with Information Architects to develop assets for prototypes intended for User Testing
? Create redline specifications for designs and optimize graphics, as needed
? Review, improve, and defend work with UX Lead, design, and platform/application feature teams
? Work with Product Managers and Program Managers to ensure proper UX milestones and deliverables are noted throughout the release life-cycle
? Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to help define and defend UI decisions
? Present progress to core team and to senior and executive management
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
? 4 years? experience designing complex data driven web- and non-web-based applications
? Illustration skills for designing iconography
? Should be senior enough to be able to go beyond what was specified in a wire frame by the Information Architect to enhance and/or modify the designs in order to perfect the UX
? Expert level hands-on software experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & Fireworks) and Microsoft Suite
? Must be able to thrive in ambiguous cultures by being proactive and creating flexible solutions
? Working knowledge of how to design within code constraints and a solid understanding of CSS, HTML, Silverlight, etc.
? Demonstrated experience designing for highly complex data-driven software applications
? Successful candidate will have enthusiasm and energy to work in a start-up environment, and eager to deliver in agile development release cycles
? Ability to follow user-centered design best practices and techniques
? Strong positive track record of delivering on time and releasing successful products under tight timelines
? Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and drive hard UX decisions across cross-functional teams
? Strong portfolio demonstrating past relevant projects is required
? BS degree in HCI, Interaction Design, or equivalent experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
? Experience designing for SharePoint
? Hands-on HTML, JavaScript, CSS and XAML skills
? Ability to develop prototypes for user research and proof-of-concept
? Experience designing software for the Healthcare Industry
