We are seeking an Engagement Manager for our Chicago office.

The Engagement Manager plays a critical role in ensuring both continued revenue growth and successful engagements with legal departments at Fortune 500 companies. The Engagement Manager is an integral part of the team involved in the sales cycle, driving growth and new products, providing account oversight and engaging with internal and external clients at all levels.
The Engagement Manager will:
Work with the Chicago office Practice Manager Team to secure new accounts and craft strategic solutions for clients? needs.
Effectively oversee the day to day activities for a portfolio of clients and build client relationships with Chicago area companies, including professionally managing junior Practice Management Team members.
Personally drive revenue growth for Axiom?s Insourcing/Secondments business while coordinating efforts for Managed Services solutions offerings with Axiom?s product and sales specialists and Solutions Design Team, with ownership for building new accounts and expanding existing relationships and engagements.
Generate and attend client meetings, and originate leads with new and existing clients.
Successfully market Axiom attorneys for specific client engagements and successfully manage and coach attorneys on existing engagements to ensure client satisfaction, manage challenging client situations and resolve issues.
Work with Attorney Development to support the pipeline and development of Axiom?s Chicago attorney population.
Capture and help to implement best practices across client development and engagement management activities.

Our ideal candidate must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent service, and an ability to and interest in the growth of client relationships and developing strategic solutions for a portfolio of candidates.
Specifically, we are looking for a professional with 5+ years of (i) management consulting, (ii) business development/account management, or (iii) other professional or operational experience in a client services role. This includes experience working with senior level decision makers. Profit/loss responsibility considered a plus.
Familiarity with the legal industry is not required but would be considered a plus. This familiarity could come from an account management role serving legal departments, an advisory role impacting legal departments as a stakeholder group, or from 2 to 3 years practicing law before moving into a business role.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Keen ability to build laterally and nurture client relationships;
Knowledge of consultative services/solution selling;
High emotional IQ and innate ability to focus on clients? needs and consistently raises the bar on service excellence;
Capable of leading, managing & inspiring others;
Knowledge of selling/closing and customer service techniques;
Significant project management experience and meticulous attention to detail;
Superb time management, decision-making and problem solving skills;
Thrives in both individual and team environments;
Expert high-impact communication and presentation skills;
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others;
Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (including PowerPoint and Excel);

Legally eligible to work in the United States.
MBA or JD from top-tier school preferred.
Bachelor?s degree required.
