Do you love social? We?re expanding our Engineering Services practice focused on building the social workplace, furthering the future of work, and making social real.
With a focus on people engagement, business alignment, and technology enablement ? we are looking for a Solutions Engineer to drive adoption in consulting engagements for the implementation of NewsGator?s Social Sites deployments and to consult in product best practices in a variety of architectures and topologies. This position will serve as a trusted advisor and customer advocate.
This position focuses on providing technical implementation and configuration support for NewsGator SharePoint solutions. You will be working directly with NewsGator?s enterprise clients at all levels, in both a pre and post sale capacity. Frequent travel and day-to-day interaction with project teams, technical teams, end users, and executive champions are required.
Provide primary installation and configuration support for NewsGator Enterprise Products to new and existing NewsGator customers.
Provide detailed configuration assistance of NewsGator products in SharePoint environments and troubleshooting of system overlap / integration between NewsGator products and SharePoint.
Troubleshoot Windows Server environments and application issues as it relates to product implementation and operation.
Diagnose and resolve all problems related to NewsGator product(s) and system operation, availability, security, performance, connectivity, and overall function during an implementation.
Build internal system environments mirroring customer development, test and production environments to include MS IIS, database, SharePoint, AD, and NewsGator components.
Provide in-depth investigation, analysis, and timely resolution of customer issues and problems.
Report and escalate customer problems and enhancements to development and product management as appropriate, including detailed explanation of issue and recommended resolution.
Provide clear, well documented description of problems that require technical fix or resolution by Software Engineers.
Create, maintain, and enhance product(s) knowledge base, including technical articles, FAQ?s, sample applications, and/or demonstrations.
Assist with Pre-Sales activities and events as appropriate.
BS in Business Information System, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 8 years of consulting or software professional service experience.
Minimum 5 years experience supporting Microsoft server technologies.
Expertise with Microsoft SharePoint 2003/2007, MOSS and SharePoint 2010 technologies including solution deployment, web part maintenance, site definitions and features.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of Windows Server implementation and ongoing system administration, including related server applications: IIS, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, and networking protocols.
Working knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and 2008 implementation and ongoing system administration.
Working knowledge of HTML, HTTP(s), and XML.
Knowledge of and exposure to RSS.
Proven ability to manage and solve complex customer support issues in a dynamic environment.
Proven ability to effectively interact and manage customer issues either onsite or remotely, including difficult and potentially difficult customer interactions.
Proven ability to be passionate about customer success.
Demonstrable thought leadership with social software and the future of work.
Self-starter that can resolve issues quickly and efficiently by using available resources.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical scenarios.
Proven ability to understand customer requirements, project goals and milestones, and provide updates and reports to necessary and/or key project contributors and/or manager(s) as required.
Ability to adapt to a changing work place
Ability to work, communicate, and deliver on requirements in periods of high, and sometimes stressful work loads.
10 years of consulting or software professional service experience.
Expertise with Microsoft SharePoint SharePoint 2010 technologies in a consulting capacity.
Deep technical knowledge of the technologies listed above.
